Conduction-Cooled Power Capacitors

Conduction-cooled power capacitors, developed and introduced by Celem in 1963, transfer away dissipated heat via the same bus bar connection that provides their electrical connection.

In comparison to capacitors cooled by immersing terminals and dielectrics in a water-cooled oil bed, conduction cooling vastly reduces capacitor volume per unit power and results in simpler, lower cost production.
